From the Hill to the Net, Grassroots Professionals Share Best Practices
for Mobilizing Citizens and Communicating with Lawmakers Capitol Advantage Conference to Focus on Building Better Relationships Between Citizens, Legislators, and the Media Washington, D.C. (November 17, 2004) - More than 250 government relations professionals will gather in Washington, DC on November 19, 2004, to discuss proven strategies for recruiting and engaging activists in winning advocacy campaigns. The daylong program, hosted by Capitol Advantage, will bring together experts in the fields of traditional and digital grassroots strategies with Hill staff, media representatives, and leading associations, trade groups, and companies to define the future of citizen-policymaker relationships. As part of the program, the Congressional Management Foundation will present new findings on how citizens can communicate most effectively with Congress. Capitol Advantage, the nation's leading provider of grassroots advocacy solutions whose 1,500 customers include AOL, Yahoo!, AARP, and the American Bankers Association, will also release the results of a groundbreaking study of organizations' use of online advocacy tools to communicate with Washington and state capitols.
