Trust and Transparency: The Capwiz·XC Way

A recent article in the Washington Post ("Constituents' E-Mail on XM Deal Not Well Received," 11/22/07) discusses one of the hurdles facing third-party advocacy companies: confidence that the company is using the best available practices and technology to deliver advocacy messages to their intended recipients.  When misuse occurs, as described in the referenced article, public officials on the federal and state level may question the authenticity of incoming electronic messages.

Messages sent on behalf of an individual without consent, while rare, damage the good reputation of honest online advocates.  Capitol Advantage, maker of the Capwiz·XC online grassroots advocacy tool, works diligently to assure each recipient that constituent messages are genuine.

In order to maintain the trust among elected officials that messages sent through Capwiz·XC are authentic, Capitol Advantage follows these policies:

  • No falsified data.  All information sent through Capwiz·XC, including phone numbers, email addresses, and street addresses, is entered by the constituent.

  • Real-time delivery.  Capwiz·XC messages are delivered to the Member’s email address or webform within hours if not minutes of the constituent entering their message. We don’t “batch” all messages from an organization and send them in bulk; rather, we send them to Congress as they are being sent through our system by the individual.

  • Confirmation receipts.  With every message sent through Capwiz·XC, a confirmation message and carbon copy is sent to the email address of the author notifying them that the message was delivered so they can easily recall each message they send.

Our transparent processes are unique among our competitors, and that is why we remain the industry leader.  Capwiz·XC involves the constituents every step of the way by providing several opportunities for them to review, edit, and personalize each message.  Our system gives clients the tools to assist their users by guiding them through the process, encouraging constituents to contribute their thoughts on the issue.

Capitol Advantage works with real people to enable them to exercise their rights to petition Congress in the most effective and influential manner.  To learn more about how Capwiz·XC works or if you have any questions about Capitol Advantage, please contact Kenny Ames, Director of Government Outreach and Constituent Communication at the information below.
